A P-Shot® includes an injection of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), obtained from your own blood. PRP contains a rich concentration of growth factors and platelets, which support wound healing and tissue repair. STEP 1:
Numb the Area – We apply a numbing lidocaine cream to the penis.

Prepare The PRP – A small amount of blood is drawn from the arm. Using a centrifuge, one of our doctors isolates platelets from that blood (platelet rich plasma, or PRP), all within about 15 minutes in the office.
STEP 3:
Activate the PRP – The platelets are then “activated” to release at least eight growth factors that would normally be used to rejuvenate tissue.
STEP 4:
Inject the PRP – The liquid is transferred into a syringe and injected into the penis (with a tiny needle) using a method that distributes the growth factors in the proper way.
STEP 5:
Penis Pump – A penis pump is used for 15 minutes. We recommend the usage of a specific penis pump immediately after the injection and to continue with a specific schedule for approximately 6 weeks after the procedure.

Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, refers to a concentrated mix of plasma, platelets, and growth factors derived from your blood. When you suffer an injury, it’s these components that prompt healing and accelerate tissue repair.
When you visit us for a P-Shot® in Wheeling, using PRP, we isolate the PRP and inject it into your penis in order to stimulate new, healthy tissue growth. This helps increase blood flow to your penis and repairs damaged tissues, improving your erections and sexual satisfaction.
Before starting treatment, you’ll first meet with one of our nurse practitioners for a consultation. They’ll ask you about your concerns, review your medical history, and explain your treatment options. At your appointment, we start by drawing a vial of your blood. This vial goes into our centrifuge, which spins the blood rapidly to separate out the PRP. Next, we apply a topical anesthetic to the injection sites on and around your penis.
We then administer several injections of PRP directly into the tissue. The injections themselves don’t take long. Once they’re done, your provider will talk you through any necessary aftercare instructions, and then you’re free to return to your normal routine.
Because a P-Shot® necessarily includes injections, you may feel some slight discomfort from the needle. However, we can apply a topical anesthetic as needed to ensure your comfort.
Afterwards, as the anesthetic wears off, you may feel some slight soreness and pressure, but these will fade on their own shortly after getting your P-Shot® in Wheeling.
We typically recommend between 1 and 3 sessions for the best results. After your first session, we may recommend additional treatments depending on your individual body and the results from the previous session.
